Live with Purpose.

Living a life with purpose is essential for our overall well-being and happiness. It gives us a sense of direction, something to strive for, and a reason to wake up every morning. Without a clear purpose, we may feel lost, directionless, and unfulfilled, which can lead to negative emotions such as anger and depression.

When we have a clear sense of purpose, we are better equipped to handle life's challenges. We are more resilient, motivated, and focused on our goals. We have a reason for being. With this sense of clarity, we can withstand any obstacle that comes our way, knowing that we are working towards something meaningful and worthwhile.

Purpose also provides us with a sense of connection to something greater than ourselves. It enables us to understand our place in the world. It rewards us with a sense of belonging and meaning. It gives us a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

Success or sabotage? Have you cultivated your sense of purpose? Whether it's through self-reflection, seeking out new experiences, or connecting with others who share your values, finding your why is the key to unlocking a deeper level of joy, success, and satisfaction in everything you do.

You will undoubtedly gain valuable insights about your strengths, weaknesses, gifts, and talents as well as what truly matters at your core. Embrace the process and trust that when the time is right, you will find the clarity that you desire.

Don’t be concerned if the answers are not yet apparent. Some of them could take a lifetime to uncover. And, some of the answers will change. We must be willing to ask the questions over and over again. The world continues to evolve. We grow. Our lives and desires are not static. Many of us will have a number of callings during our lifetime. If we desire true satisfaction and fulfillment, we must be flexible and willing to revisit our standing in relation to our soul.

If concluding on a life purpose or calling seems too big and difficult to digest, simply consider your purpose for today. It need not be grandiose or award-winning. It only needs to be true for you.

Success or sabotage? If you are unclear about your purpose for today, how can you possibly succeed? In order to achieve goals, you must have them.

Is this going to be an incredible day? Do you have a vision for the qualities required for an “incredible day”? Take a moment to list them. Set yourself up for success.

Construct your Life.

The future is waiting for you. You are a creative being blessed with the ability to construct the life of your dreams. It will not, however, happen on its own. You must choose who you want to be and how you want that to be reflected in your life. Once you have concluded on a framework for your life (a goal or objective), you must do whatever you can to manifest that vision. It requires a delicate balance. You must be clear about what you want and be willing to release all expectations. Do not allow your willful nature or perception to limit your possibility; you must release the "When?" "Where?" "When?" and "How?" that often plagues our consciousness. Know that your dream will come true (or something even better) if you simply get out of the way. You do what you know and are led to do and you leave the rest to the universe.

What is your vision for the future? What are you doing TODAY to create the space for that vision to come into this reality?

Success or sabotage? Success is the result of creative power in action; it is never accidental.

Check your Purpose.

It could be argued that one of the greatest fears for many of us is leaving the planet without doing what is ours to do. Yet, it is very easy for us to forget our “why?” in continuation of the “what?” We often get so caught up in the momentum of doing that we lose sight of our intention.

The question is simple: why are you doing what you are doing? It is in the absence of a clear vision/intention that we get sucked into a “vacuum of uncertainty,” continuing to go through the motions of existence at the expense of a life. We may be seen as productive and even successful, but closer examination might reveal that we have simply become a hamster on another’s wheel. We are fulfilling a necessary function that may be largely contributing to the success of another while neglecting our own.

Your reason for being, your motivation for getting up every morning and continuing your routine may have become simply a matter of habit. You, like so many, may simply declare that “it pays the bills.” That is a perfectly valid and reasonable response if that is the extent of your intention (no judgment). It is problematic, however, if you once had a clear intention for something else and somehow took an unintended detour. It is in these circumstances that apathy, anger, disconnection, and depression often begin to emerge. Humans are fueled by purpose. If we are lacking a clear purpose and intention, we are functioning on autopilot on a path that at some level (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or otherwise) is leading to disaster.

Our purpose is usually not static; it is not a “one-and-done examination.” It usually requires an annual check-up. Our lives, needs, desires, and the world continue to grow and evolve. If we are to achieve true satisfaction, fulfillment, and success, we must grow and evolve with it.

Success or sabotage? Success is only possible if it is continually measured and defined. We must know why we are doing what we are doing and to what end.

Texts, DMs, conference calls, ZOOM meetings...our days are often consumed with activity. The question is what is your intention? It is at the moment when you forget the answer to the question that the "trouble" begins. It is in that vacuum of uncertainty--the moment when you forget the reason why you are doing what you are doing--that you make yourself vulnerable to office politics, gossip, job dissatisfaction, etc. Awaken to your sense of purpose. It does not need to be a sense of purpose for your existence; focus on your purpose TODAY. Why are you doing what you're doing? 

This is a question that must be asked over and over again. The world changes and so does your life; your intentions will evolve with your being. You may entertain your fears by investing in a false belief where you are controlled by circumstances. Do not fall for this temptation of self-sabotage. You are always in the driver's seat. If you don't know where you're going, why don't you pull over and figure it out?  Take the time to invest in yourself so that you will have more to give to others. Take 30 minutes for yourself today to examine your life. Do you like what you have created for yourself or is it time to create something new?

We may not all be destined to be Hollywood celebrities, best-selling authors, supermodels or leaders in industry, but we all have a purpose. We all have a unique combination of gifts, talents and experiences to share with the world. There are only two things that stand in the way of us discovering our calling: saying “yes” to something bigger, better and more effective AND doing the work required to bring it to fruition.

Who do you want to be? What is your reason for getting up in the morning? Do you know? If you do not know, are unclear or feeling disconnected from any real purpose aside from existence, this is your reminder. It is time to awaken to the life that is awaiting you. It is time to give back to the world that gave you life by sharing what you have to offer. None of us are getting out of here alive, so why not take the risk?

Why are you here?

Today, I do not mean why are you reading this or why are you following me? I mean what is your purpose? Many will pause in uncertainty as if they missed the memo that would have undoubtedly instructed them on what they were here to do. While you wait for the instruction, precious time is passing. You are living your life by default, managing what arises, questioning the necessity of unwelcome circumstances and grasping for something to fill the void that you believe once contained some passion and purpose (or did it?).  

The reason that you are here today, reading what I am writing, is that you are in need of a healthy reminder.  This life is not a dress rehearsal. This day is never coming again. You are not here by accident or coincidence. Your presence on this planet, on this day, at this time is by design. You have a unique skill, gift, talent or being that is needed, right here, right now. You have been called. The question is not about whether you are the right person. You are the perfect person. The question, the ONLY question, is are you going to say "YES" to the life that is awaiting you? Are you going to say "yes" to living larger, brighter, bolder and more aligned with the yearning of your soul? Are you going to allow the inner voice of your skeptic, devil, ego to tempt you into inaction by telling you "not today," "not now," "not you"? Will you allow yourself to be carried down the black hole of uncertainty and perfectionism by awaiting greater clarity by wanting to be right instead of being effective? If you are awaiting a sign, this is it. God, your higher self, your intuition, your soul, your essence all speak in the same language. This is not the first time that you have heard this invitation. This is not the first time that you have wanted to say "yes," but have instead surrendered to "not now." This, however, is one of the last times that you may receive the message with such clarity that your soul stirs--silently screaming from a place of incredible unrest that today is the day. It is your day to decide. Who do you want to be? How do you want to walk on this planet? How do you wish to be remembered? How will you shine your light in a darkness that can only be illuminated by the gift that is yours to offer? If not you; then who? If not now, then when?

Success or sabotage?  Success has always been yours for the taking. When you realize that in combination with the fact your definition of success is all your own, sabotage is no longer a possibility.

Is this going to be an incredible day? With every day, there is a seed of greatness...it is not outside of you. It is you. It is waiting for you to allow it to come forth.

For what purpose did you awaken this morning? What is it that inspires you to move your body from the comfort of your bed?  Is it a sense of duty, obligation, routine or are you called to a higher purpose? Do you feel that your life has a meaning that you must fulfill?

The world can no longer afford the apathy of your unconscious mind. If you are going to step into this day, then do so with the gusto of a warrior, focused on your task. Your very breath awards you a sense of duty and reward that no other can sustain. You are unique in your experience, wisdom and passion. You have a "flavor" that is all your own. Embrace all that you have become and move without apology into the day that you have chosen. This day will never come again.

The only real sin is to choose to live below your potential. If you are awaiting inspiration, clarity or invitation, you are a slave of your own fairy tale. You have chosen your comfort over the sanctity of life and have cheated the world of a day's worth of your contributions.

Success or sabotage? Success is the result of conscious choice; it need not be grandiose or noteworthy in its design. It is simply the powerful product of intention.

Awaken to Purpose.

Are you awake? I am referring to a definition that exceeds "eyes open and conscious." Are you clear as to how this day fits within your goals, dreams and intentions? If you are not awakening to a clear sense of purpose and intention, you are sabotaging the true potential of your life.  It is easy to postpone the "work" until tomorrow but, by doing so, you may be cheating your self out of unexplored joy and miracles.

An assumption of western culture may lead you to believe that the "work" is defined by doing and tasks. The truth is that much of the necessary work is centered on intention and consciousness. A large part of the success equation that is often ignored is who you are in relation to your goals. You are the being through which success will emanate, so your state of being is integral to the level of success that you will achieve.

You have been awarded the privilege of life, full of unlimited potential. If you can point to nothing else at this moment, you can appreciate the fact that you are breathing, sighted and able to read. The day that stands before you is yours to create as you wish. You cannot control the outcomes, but you can command how you spend the day and how you react to the circumstances that unfold. Who do you want to be?
