Accept the Truth.
A great deal of energy is expended fighting the present condition (what is). Often, we fight for what could be, would be or “should be”; by doing so, we create an unnecessary obstacle to accepting the truth. This is easier said than done because our truth is a product of our experiences, thoughts and beliefs. It is only when we are able to stop, sit back and examine our thoughts that we are able to accept things as they are (instead of a filtered assessment of what is unfolding). When we find ourselves feeling negative or victimized, we need to examine this inclination. Is it simply a matter of unconscious habit or an addiction to victimization? In essence: what are the facts apart from our feelings about them?
As you walk through your day today, notice how often your thoughts about something are emotionally charged (positively or negatively). Notice the commentary that is running in your head. What is the story that you are telling? How do those around you fit within the context of that story? Are you happy with the story and how it makes you feel? If not, it is time to remember that you are the author of the story, with an infinite power to re-write. How would you like for the story read? What will you do today to bring that story to life in your own experience?
Success or sabotage? Our personal success is often impeded by our thoughts about ourselves, our interactions with others and the world at large. In order to live as the exception rather than the rule, we must be disciplined in fostering positive, productive, inspiring thoughts.
Is this going to be an incredible day? The most incredible days are those when we surrender, accept and appreciate everything exactly as it is at any given moment.
