Remember the Truth.
Most of us have had moments where we have felt completely stuck or overwhelmed by the challenges life throws our way. We stare up at an insurmountable mountain with no idea how we will make it to the other side. In those moments of despair and self-doubt, it's easy to lose sight of who we really are at our core.
The truth is we have overcome obstacles just as daunting before. We possess an inner reservoir of strength, resilience, and capability that has seen us through tough times in the past. Those skills and talents that helped us persevere have not gone anywhere - they're still there, now bolstered by the wisdom we have accumulated through experience.
The way out of feeling stuck is to remember our true selves—to realign with the capable, resourceful people we know ourselves to be. When we reconnect with that part of ourselves, we tap into an incredible wellspring of power to transcend whatever challenges we are facing right now.
We all go through seasons where we momentarily forget the truth of who we are. The stresses and pressures of life can cast a shadow, clouding our sense of self-trust and making us question our ability to handle what's in front of us. But just like the sun is always there beyond the clouds, our fundamental essence remains intact, waiting to be reclaimed.
Think back to a time when the road ahead looked uncertain, but you managed to navigate it successfully. What strengths did you draw upon to make it through? Did you lean on your creativity to find an innovative solution? Did you tap into your determination to persist despite setbacks? Did you utilize your ability to remain calm under pressure? Those qualities are encoded into the fabric of who you are.
Our core capabilities do not vanish when we hit a rough patch. They are part of our spiritual DNA, woven into our very being. What changes is our perception and awareness of them in the moment? The obstacles we face can seem so big and formidable that they blot out the memory of our inherent power.
That power is always there, waiting to be unlocked. All we need to do is shift our focus back to the truth of who we are at the deepest level. One powerful way to do this is to reflect on the challenges we have already conquered. Read back through old journal entries detailing how you made it through a difficult period. Revisit photos or mementos from times when you dug deep and refused to give up. Let these memories reignite your sense of self-belief and refuel your determination.
Another potent strategy is to make a list of all the strengths, skills, and positive qualities that have empowered us in the past. We must be specific - don't just write "I'm resilient." Spell out the exact ways you've embodied resilience, like by "staying committed to my goals despite multiple setbacks.” We can read over this list whenever we feel our sense of self-starting to fade. It will remind us of the wealth of resources we have within us to handle whatever we are going through.
We can also look to mentors, loved ones, or inspirational historical figures as sources of perspective and motivation. Find people who exemplify perseverance, courage, and an unwavering belief in themselves. Study how they met challenges head-on while staying connected to their core selves. Then emulate their mindset and approach in our own circumstances.
Remembering who we are is about realigning with our authentic nature - the part of us that is confident, capable, and boundless in the face of adversity. Not the fearful, contracted version of ourselves that can take over when the going gets tough. Our true selves remain unshaken, knowing that this storm will eventually pass and that we have what it takes to withstand it.
The obstacles before us are not bigger or more formidable than those we have vanquished. Think of everything we have already made it through up until this point - the losses and failures, the times when the future looked bleak but we kept putting one foot in front of the other. Our ability to rise above difficulty and keep moving forward is hardwired into each of us.
The challenges are inevitable; getting disconnected from our core self is optional. So don't buy into the delusion that you're stuck or ill-equipped. That's just the ego's fear-based self trying to distract us from our true power.
The path ahead may not be easy or clear, but we have walked more treacherous trails before and made it through. Call upon the same resilience, creativity, and perseverance that helped you scale those past summits. They are always available to assist you, coded into the DNA of who you really are beyond any temporary doubts.
Success or sabotage? The mountain, however formidable, is no match for the enormity of what you've already overcome and have yet to achieve.
Is this going to be an incredible day? You've got this. After all, you're still you - that unstoppable force who has met every challenge in your life head-on with grit and grace. All you need to do is remember.
