Rewrite your Story.
We will never exceed the limitations of the story that we hold about ourselves. In order to expand beyond those limitations, we must first be aware of the story (and own the fact that we are the only ones with the power to rewrite it).
The story has been constructed in large part by our life experiences and the messages that we received from our parents and other influential figures in our formative years. It was not necessarily intentional or overt, but our child's mind took these “teachings” and converted them into a construct for life. It provided us with a context for who we were and, in some respects, our role in response to the world at large. It was filled with lack, limitations, powers, and possibilities that dictated how we would probably perform. For most, the story is largely unconscious, but it remains one of the most powerful influences in our day-to-day lives.
Consider your story. If you were to summarize the chapters of your life to date, how would they be described? What are the challenges and obstacles most often experienced by the protagonist (you)? What are the plot points that seem to be repetitive and unconquered?
Once you have a sense of your story, how will you rewrite it? How can you take the challenges and reframe them as opportunities that eventually lead to victory? How will you take your story (however it has unfolded) and make it one where the hero (you) eventually conquers all? How will you bring the next chapter of this story to life in your current reality?
Success or sabotage? We must each define “success,” what it looks like and how we know when we have achieved it.
Is this going to be an incredible day? Every day arrives without form or meaning until we define it. How will you create a day that exceeds all to date and works effectively in your favor?
