Dwell in Gratitude.
Rather than defending the lack, limitation and discomfort of the reality that you are in, consider the one that you wish to create. It is natural for us to focus on where we are now standing and the feelings associated with our present experience, but we are creative beings. We are always creating. Our life today is the EFFECT that we have CAUSED by our previous thoughts, words and actions. So, the focus of your time, energy and attention now is an order placed for a "delivery" that will show up in the days ahead. So, what type of order are you placing?
For all that is not, there is a lot that is. We have a tendency to focus on that which is not, dwelling on the misery of all that is undesirable and then we act surprised when we receive and experience more of it. No one is suggesting that you deny the circumstances of your present day reality; it is simply an invitation to use that uncomfortable contrast for something that will serve you now and in the future. It is an exercise in redirecting your attention to that which you desire, while embracing the good which already exists.
In order to fully access that creative power, it is helpful to dwell on some radical gratitude, even if only for a few minutes each day. Focus on that which you love, appreciate and value in today's experience. Get out a piece of paper. Write down 5 things for which you are grateful specific to today. Be very specific. "I am so very grateful for that delicious spinach salad that I had for lunch." "I am thrilled that I was able to take a walk in the warm sunshine today." "I am so thankful for the call that I received from my friend Ken. I love speaking with him." "I love the glass of wine that I am drinking right now. It is so smooth." Notice how your energy continues to shift the more that you invest in your gratitude.
Now, write down three things that you want. What would you like to create? Again, be as specific as possible. Write it in present tense, as if you already have it, including your positive feelings about having it. Fully indulge the fantasy. If you find yourself feeling stuck, use the power of contrast. What in your current experience can you no longer tolerate? What do you no longer want? What is the opposite of that? There, you go! Now you have opened the door to desire.
Take it a step farther. What is at least one thing that you will do (however small) to bring one of those things that you want closer to your reality? Continue to do this every day, adding another step.
Success or sabotage? Success often escapes us because we are so resistant to defining it.
Is this going to be an incredible day? Every day is limitless in its potential. We must do what is required to create the attitude, demeanor and circumstances to bring this desire into your reality.
