Look for Gifts.
Failure is a perception that only holds as much power as we allow. That which we often categorize as “failure” is usually a great gift in clever disguise.
When we examine our lives in retrospect, we see how often life experiences that we have labeled as disappointments have been instrumental in guiding us to a more effective path. We have a tendency to conclude that unexpected outcomes or disappointments are failures with no future value. Often the pain that results from the unexpected awakens us to a new awareness that enables us to do more than we ever thought possible. It is those experiences in our lives that provide a deeper appreciation for our victories. It makes our successes all the more sweet. It is a cycle perfect in design.
What have your failures/disappointments taught you? What gifts have emerged as a result of those experiences? Look at your life as it is unfolding right now. Are there things that are not going according to plan? How can these undesirable results make you even more effective. Since everything has ultimately worked out in the past (you’re still here!), why should these circumstances be any different?
Success or sabotage? Note the relationship between success and sabotage in your own life. What is the wisdom that you have acquired?
Is this going to be an incredible day? Look for the unexpected gifts today. Appreciate the mystery of what is to come and enjoy the ride. Remember, this day is never coming again and you have been awarded the gift of experiencing it.
