Take effective Action.
It is much easier to complain about your life than it is to take responsibility and the effective action to change it. The societal norm of playing the victim is embedded in our culture, in marketing, entertainment, environment and daily interactions. "Victim culture" is big business and is the foundation of much of American capitalism. If it wasn't so easy for us to feel "less than another," there would be no market for industries designed to make us feel better about ourselves. We all desire the quick-fix and secretly covet an extreme makeover that won't interfere with our daily routine and comfort.
Is the pain of where you are greater than the discomfort of what it is going to take to move you out of it? It is a question that you answer every day (consciously or not) with every thought, word or action. It is not a matter of judgment about the choice that you are making; simply be aware of that fact that you are making one.
Today, pay special attention to how often you find yourself complaining both in thought and words. How much of your time and energy is spentfocusing on what you consider to be negative circumstances or experiences? Every time that you catch yourself thinking negatively, stop and transform it to a positive action. What can you do in that moment to move in a more effective direction?
Success or sabotage? Success is a more challenging road that requires a great deal of discipline, effort and execution. Are you willing to do what is necessary to invite more success and joy into your life?
Is this going to be an incredible day? What are you willing to do to make it so?
