Slow your Roll.

Many spend their lives in constant movement as if they are in a frantic attempt to escape the solitude of their thoughts. We live in a busy world, fraught with competing priorities; yet, there comes a time when it is in your best interests to ask: “What am I busy about? Are my actions aligned with the creation of an intended end? Am I investing in activities that are enriching my existence and fulfilling my vision for my life?”

One of the many benefits of getting older is that we tend to have less patience for activities and indulgences that no longer matter. If we are blessed enough to achieve the wisdom that comes from living, we realize that no one is holding us hostage. Ultimately, we can only be prisoners to ourselves (by our choices). This is the ultimate freedom because we finally understand that we are the co-creators of our existence. We can create, accept, or reject that which is aligned with the life that we wish to live.

The restlessness that accompanied times of inactivity or mislaid plans in our youth is replaced by an appreciation of solitude and freedom from obligations in our later years. We can choose to be at peace with our thoughts, able to appreciate the wisdom that silence and reflection can fully provide.

Success or sabotage? The highest level of success is achieved when we realize that it is more about allowing than creating. When we have a clear vision and a consciousness of our choices, we do not have to work so hard to “make things happen.”

Is this going to be an incredible day? Slow your roll. Take some time to sit comfortably in the “void” of inactivity. Be still, listen to your intuition, and discover a new level of joy in your day.
