Manage the Change.

Today's world is filled with unwelcome change (often in the guise of seemingly tragic circumstances). So often, our daily news is filled with events that invite a societal response, either in words, actions, or both.

We can resist. We can mourn. We can also engage in thoughtful conversations about ways that we can facilitate change. One does not necessarily negate the other. We all have different ways of honoring tragedy. For some, it requires taking a great pause, silence, crying, or prayer. For others, it is trying to find meaning and wisdom in conversations about how we can use the pain to begin to create something better. Both are necessary. Both should be honored. Yes, we can walk and chew gum simultaneously. The "right way" is the way that works best for you. The "right time" is the time that enables you to use the pain that you share to create something better. One thing is for certain: our lives on this planet will continue to provide us with many opportunities to define who we wish to be, as individuals and as a country.

Success or sabotage? Success requires the flexibility to honor and effectively manage uninvited change.

Is this going to be an incredible day? What are you willing to do to make it so for you and others?  If not now, when? If not you, then who?
