Redefine your Perimeters.
Growth is uncomfortable. It is also ripe with unexpected rewards. The inherent risk is an ineffective choice (what those steeped in judgment refer to as a "mistake") that results in pain, discomfort or the vulnerability of perfection. The fear of probable negative results is the strategy of the ego. Listening to its council will keep us anchored to an illusion of comfort. It may be effective in allowing us to avoid perceived pain at this moment, but in the longer term we are limiting our own success and possibility.
How are you holding yourself back? What elicits the most cynicism in terms of avenues of growth and greater self-awareness? If you take the time to follow the trail of resistance, you will find the core of your objection. It may take the form of logic, but make no mistakes. It is fear and it has a vested interest in keeping you right where you are (even discomfort is preferred to comfort if it requires change).
Engage an act of courage today. I do not mean that you need to climb a mountain or jump out of an airplane (but, with the proper equipment and training, I would not object to it!); simply step out--WAY OUT--of your comfort zone. Do something today that forces you to redefine your perimeters. Role play and assume the characteristics of someone that you know that is living beyond your current perceived limitations. Do you feel your heart beating a little faster right now? Is fear attempting to influence your decision with its systems of logic?
Success or sabotage? Hold yourself accountable for success. Are you reading this for a purpose or simply reading it?
Is this going to be an incredible day? How will you make this day expand so that you create a memory that is more powerful than simply another day?
