Embrace your Emotions.

Growing up, I was taught that as a man, I needed to be strong and stoic in the face of tragedy. Showing emotions was perceived as a sign of weakness, something to be hidden or suppressed. But over time, I've come to realize that this conditioning is not only outdated but also detrimental to our emotional well-being. Authenticity is key when it comes to personal growth and success.

My 18-year-old dog and best companion, Rupert, had to be laid down for his final rest. I have been devastated. Rather than avoiding the complexity of emotions, I have been allowing the tears to flow whenever and wherever they arise. It has been inconvenient, uncomfortable, and (often) embarrassing, but I realize that it is something that I need to do in order to completely heal. We cannot get beyond what we refuse to acknowledge.

We are all human beings with a wide range of emotions, and denying or suppressing them does more harm than good. Embracing our emotions doesn't make us weak; it actually makes us stronger and more resilient. When faced with a tragedy or difficult situation, allowing ourselves to feel the pain, sadness, or anger can help us process and heal faster.

Authenticity plays a crucial role in leading a fulfilling life. Pretending to be someone we're not or hiding our true feelings creates barriers between ourselves and others. It's through vulnerability and open expression of our emotions that we connect on a deep level with those around us and build meaningful relationships. So instead of viewing emotional reactions as displays of weakness, let's celebrate them as acts of courage and authenticity – essential ingredients for both personal growth and success in all aspects of life.

Success or sabotage? Embrace authenticity by honoring every emotion that you experience without judgment or shame. Refusing to do so is a form of sabotage that will inhibit you from living your best life.

Is this an incredible day? Even in the midst of difficult times, it is important to remember that it is a gift and a privilege to be alive. Every day arrives with a seed of possibility; we are awarded the opportunity to determine what and how we wish to grow.
