In order to succeed, we must believe in ourselves at the expense of the world and the well-intentioned opinion of others. There will always be a number of people ready, willing and able to provide us with their laundry list of reasons of why our vision is unrealistic, impossible, foolish, etc….

The greatest achievers of the world have one thing in common—they never rely on the good opinion of other people (thank you, Wayne Dyer!). They are willing to stand in the face of a tribal logic that belittles their presumption and, in spite of the objections, move effectively forward. They believe that their calling is higher than the limited perspective of those around them. They direct their faith, believing in themselves as an exception to the rule. If you don’t believe in yourself, why would you expect others to believe in you?

In order to become 100% responsible for our success, we have to be conscious of where we are investing our energy. Are we surrounding ourselves with those who support our vision and feed our soul or do we continue to associate with naysayers that diminish our dreams?

Success or sabotage? Success is never achieved in a vacuum. Do you have friends, loved ones or colleagues that believe in you and your dreams?
