Create a Shift.

There are moments in our lives when we feel beaten down, exhausted, frustrated, and ready to surrender. The natural tendency is to either avoid acknowledging it (by pushing it down and pretending that everything is alright) or to bathe in it (continually speaking about the hopelessness of our circumstances). Both choices are certainly natural human inclinations, but neither are conducive to creating an effective shift in our lives.

In order to transform our circumstances, we must begin to look beyond the reality of current circumstances and focus more on what we want. We must find a way to shift our emotional state from despair and impossibility to one of hope and possibility. This is not about denial. This is not us burying our heads in the sand. This is about creating a powerful shift in our emotional set-point. We do not deny the source of our frustration; we acknowledge it and utilize it as inspiration for what we wish to create instead.

Begin by listing all of the things in your life that you can no longer manage, tolerate or accept. For each thing on your list, note what you would like to experience instead (“if I do not want this, what do I want?”). For now, do not concern yourself with whether you believe that it is possible. Do not focus on the actions that would be required to bring these desires to fruition. Let the fantasies fly. Entertain unlimited possibilities. This is merely an exercise to shift your emotional state to a higher vibration (one that will be more favorable to creative inspiration, motivation, receptivity, and attraction).

Once you have completed the list, focus on your desires. Consider how you would feel if this was your current reality. Indulge the fantasy with “won’t it be fun when…?” Go deep into your fantasy. Visualize it. Speak it. Meditate on it. Allow yourself to fully experience it. Notice how you begin to feel a small sense of relief. Make this a daily practice for six weeks. Take note of the many shifts that begin to occur. Realize that your life is in the process of evolving for the better. Greater opportunities, inspirations, and revelations for effective actions are unfolding.

Success or sabotage? Before success can truly be achieved, it must be envisioned. We must find a way to believe that it is not only an existing possibility but part of our destiny.

Is this going to be an incredible day? Each day arrives without form. It is not the day that is “good” or “bad,” it is our response to it.
