Take a Moment.

It’s never easy being a salmon.

So much of my life has been spent moving against the tide of comfort and tribal logic. There are days (sometimes, many of them) when I wonder if it is all worth it. I fantasize about the life of those who comfortably resign themselves to a simple life of routine order. They know what is expected of them and they dutifully obey. I am guessing that they enjoy a deeper sleep.

At the moment that I am on the brink of complete surrender, I am jolted back to my calling by the look of despair and hopelessness that adorns the quiet landscape of the morning commute. I thank God for the freedom (however uncomfortable) that results from choosing a life of integrity. I have chosen to stay as conscious as possible and to continue to try to awaken the “walking wounded” from the precarious walk of the “sleeper.” It is what I continue to be called to do (at least in some capacity).

I continue to extend the invitation to others as I do for myself—who do you want to be? If we simply entertain the question, the answers will begin to emerge. We usually discover that the responses have been begging for attention all along.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself. Is your life all that you would like for it to be? If not, what is preventing you from facing each day with joy and anticipation? What is one thing that you will do today to move closer to a life of complete fulfillment? Do it! For what are you waiting?

Success or sabotage? Success does not require great ambition. It requires clarity of intention and focus. Rather than allowing your assumptions to support your fears. move into the unknown and shine the light on the folly that is masquerading as certainty.

Is this going to be an incredible day? March to your own beat and feel the music well up in your soul. What could be more incredible than that?
