Direct your Faith.

When we are in the midst of deep desire, when there is something for which we are yearning, people will often suggest that we "have faith." Despite the fact that these words have also crossed my lips, it is a suggestion that does a great disservice to the recipient. It is not faith that we need in these circumstances. In contrast, it is the re-directing of attention on that which we already have and so effortlessly appreciate. Faith is always present. We either have faith in the fact that we will get what we want or faith in the belief that we will not. We cannot have both. Therefore, it is not something that must be attained; it is something that must be effectively directed.

The greatest error that we make in our efforts to direct our faith toward something that we desire is thinking about it. This may seem ridiculous, but since the greatest obstacle to our attracting that which we desire is doubt, we must learn to work our way out of the thinking where doubt presides. For most of us, when we are focusing on that which we want from the place where we don't have it, we are actually energizing the gap and empowering the story that we hold about why we do not (or probably never will) have it.

The universe is all about attraction; there is not pushing away. Therefore, when we continue to focus on that which we do NOT want, we are guaranteeing that we are going to experience more evidence of its absence in our experience. We cannot make something go away; we can only make something else be present.

The solution for us is to look for and indulge in things that make us feel good. What are the things that make us feel encouraged, inspired and joyful in our current existence? Continue to focus on these completely unrelated things. By doing this, we build the muscle of believing things that are easy for our minds to process absent resistance. Eventually, the expectation of good will become the natural inclination and not a forced perspective/intention.

Success or sabotage? Success gains momentum when we realize that we already have it in great abundance.

Is this going to be an incredible day? By focusing on that which is already incredible, we elevate our vibration in gratitude and appreciation, knowing that (by doing so) our lives will continue to get better and better.
