Release your Expectations.

Why aren’t our dreams and desires comfortably within our reach? So often, it seems that we must extend ourselves beyond the norm to even come close to realize our potential. There are many times when we look at the lives of others (those who seem to lead a “charmed life”) and conclude that we must have a missing gene, been born into the wrong family or simply don’t have the luck that has been awarded to others.

When we take the time to listen to people’s stories, however, we realize that we all have personal obstacles that must be overcome to succeed. In fact, when examining the lives of others, we discover that the importance of the journey most often exceeds the destination. If we can remain anchored in this truth, we can release our frustration over how things “should be,” how the journey should unfold and the specifics of our desired outcomes. Releasing expectations allows us to relax and simply enjoy the journey.

Success or sabotage? Our definition of success shifts when we release the need for the existence of failure. “Failures” simply become opportunities for increased clarity and insight.

Is this going to be an incredible day? How far outside of your comfort zone are you willing to travel to experience how incredible your life can be?
