Watch your Words.
Each of us is gifted with an embedded power to breathe life into our experience with the use of our words. That which you speak, you order; and that which you order will become a part of your experience. The two most powerful words on the planet are "I AM" That which you declare, that which you breathe into existence, that which follows the "I AM" will find you. So, it is important to not affirm that which you do NOT desire.
This is often evident on social media. People declare, affirm and revel in their latest misery or tragedy on Facebook or Twitter. There is nothing wrong or unhealthy about sharing, confessing or releasing that which is troubling, but it is important to be mindful that words can invariably infuse, deepen and solidify the discomfort of that experience. It is helpful to be very clear about our intention for sharing and what it is that we wish to create. We all enjoy a little comfort, support and empathy now and then (that is healthy), but when it becomes a source of nourishment that feeds an appetite for pain and victimization, then it is a real problem. It is then that we are most likely feeding an unhealthy addiction. Notice those whose lives seem to be a never-ending downward spiral of seemingly tragic events. It is not shocking or surprising discovery when the majority of their posts have been about how difficult, challenging, overwhelming or unjust their life has become. Over and over, they continue to empower the same story. Why would there be an expectation for a different outcome?
That which receives our focus, energy and attention is that which we will get more of. This is not suggesting that we deny reality. It is about being able to tell the truth about what we’re currently feeling/experiecing while also directing our words and attention to that which we desire and choose to believe will be the ultimate outcome.
Success or sabotage? Success requires extreme discipline and personal responsibility in the face of often daunting obstacles. Pay attention to your use of the words "don't" "not" and "no." When you speak those words, you are declaring what you do NOT want. When you catch yourself using one of those words, stop and rephrase, stating what you DO want instead.
Is this going to be an incredible day? The experience is yours to create. What kind of day will you be creating?
