Embrace the Detour.
It is time to shift the paradigm. The concept of "mistakes" is a perception created for purposes of judgment and control. There is no such thing as a mistake, IF YOU realize that you could have made a more effective choice given your intention. You may not have known that you made an ineffective choice--if you had not suffered the effect that you caused. Isn't that freeing?
The detours that we experience are gifts that bring us greater power and clarity. The boyfriend that turns out to be a nightmare provides you with clarity about what you don't want in the future (moving you closer to what you DO WANT). The miscalculation at work provides you with the opportunity to strengthen and implement more effective practices. Even the rich dessert that you had following dinner that resulted in a stomach ache provides you with evidence to suggest that you might want to eat more responsibly. Those experiences that we are so quick to label as "failures" and "mistakes" are steps closer to success.
Think about a recent "failure" in your life. What are the gifts that this experience provided you (or could provide you, if you would allow it)?
Success or sabotage? Success is accelerated when one is able to view all experiences and challenges as contributing to the goal.
Is this going to be an incredible day? Don't allow today's detours to obstruct your view; an incredible day is underfoot!
