Appreciate this Moment.

As I was running errands this morning, I head a bird singing somewhere in the distance. There are definite signs that spring will indeed arrive. As I listened to the bird's song, I wondered if it was merely a ruse. This is Chicago and the winter can be quite devious in its unfolding. I caught myself and I had to laugh. I seem to have personified winter as an adversary in a once beautiful world. I could envision him in full-color animation, cloaked in black and wearing a large ominous fedora. He would probably carry a largely pointed cane. When angered, he points the cane at the sky or the horizon and snow or bitter winds ensue.

Without the winter, there is no appreciation for the spring. I was about to surrender the moment for what might be down the road, rather than fully appreciating the gift that I am living today. I am alive. I am breathing. I am healthy. I have been awarded yet another day of opportunity and miracles. There is no reason to expect anything but good can come out of such a day. If I am going to assume the unknown, I would rather invest in positive outcomes!

I invite you to take in this moment. Remember all that you have as a small sign of even better things to come. You are blessed. In that spirit of appreciation, enter this day with open eyes for all that you have been given.

Success or sabotage? There are many stages of success. each one builds on the other. Be certain to pay homage to all of the progress along the way.

Is this going to be an incredible day? We're both here; how could it not be?
