Move to Action.

Prejudice, bias, discrimination, sexism, racism, ageism, homophobia...they exist because we allow it. If we are not actively doing something to eradicate its existence, we are participating in its sustenance.  There are times, however, when it seems as if the issues are too big and complex to tackle. So, rather than fight a battle that we cannot possibly win, we resign ourselves altogether and quietly look the other way. We oppress ourselves and our own sense of justice and integrity for temporary comfort.

It is the time that we own who we are and what we are willing to accept in our society.  Oppression is born out of fear and disconnection. We can begin to create small shifts in this paradigm by taking responsibility for who we are in the world and how we are going to treat others.  Do you believe in treating others as you wish to be treated? The Golden Rule is a simple philosophy that exists in every religion and culture. It is expressed in different terms/words, but the meaning is universal.

Today, take a small step that can literally create a ripple in the universe. Step out of your comfort zone and connect with a stranger. Say "hello" to the person next to you in line at the store. Inquire about the day of a person that is in the elevator (and mean it). Thank the bus driver for driving you to work. Do not allow insecurity and fear to inhibit you from being a fully loving human. Move from a position of awareness to action; put your gratitude into action.

Success or sabotage? Success is a team effort; if we can all share in the fruits of success by feeding one another, we will all be more successful.

Is this going to be an incredible day?  Don't oppress your desire to connect and watch what begins to unfold.
