Use the Misery.
Why do bad things happen to such good people? You may have asked that when you or one of your loved ones were on the receiving end of a negative circumstance or tragedy. When we are the "victims" of what seems to be a "dark forces," it is difficult to imagine that there could be any positive results from pain and suffering. Yet, there are millions of stories where the realization of a higher purpose and a calling is born out of "undeserved misery." You probably know of others (if it is not true of yourself) that have risen out of despair and as a result of the experience have had a new awakening and enlightenment.
In the famous biblical tale, Joseph is thrown into a pit to die by his brothers; he rises out of his plight to become the ruler over the land. He forgives his brothers because he knows that the cruelty, the evil served him--it was instrumental in his awakening. It is an old story--the hero's journey which is written in every culture, religion, and country.
On the other side of this thing that we are so quick to label as "evil" is your life--infused with new energy, purpose, and understanding. In looking back on your life to date, you will see how misery and apparent evil has transformed you into something better equipped to face today.
Success or sabotage? Are you able to see how every experience contributes to your growth? Do you allow the pain and your expectation to sabotage your ability to succeed?
Is this going to be an incredible day? Are you going to live or exist?
