Let it Go.

Sometimes the only way to open up to the truth of who you really are is to LET GO OF YOURSELF. It is only at that moment when you are willing to relinquish all of your preconceptions and lifelong definitions of who you are and what you can and cannot do that you begin to discover the truth.

This is such a difficult leap for many--often, you won't even consider letting go until you are without choice.

I am reminded of the story of Jonah (you know the one--the guy that got swallowed by the whale in the Bible). God told Jonah to go to Ninevah to minister. Jonah thought that would not be such a good idea (the people there did not have a pleasant reputation), so he decided to take a trip far away ("perhaps I'll just go way over there, meditate and pray a bit; God will see how good I am and will reconsider His unwise decision."). When Jonah is traveling by boat, a storm begins to brew. He immediately concludes that this storm is God's punishment for his disobedience. He insists that he be thrown overboard. As you probably know, Jonah is eventually swallowed by a whale.  Inside the whale, he spends a few days in deep thought.  What else is one going to do in there? (there is no cable!) Jonah talks to God and repents for his actions.  He ends up in Ninevah and finds that the people there immediately listen to his message and change their ways with no resistance.  Well, this pisses Jonah off. How could these "heathens" all be so easily converted? If anyone SHOULD go to hell, they should. The story has many meanings, but to me, it is about letting go of the analysis. Jonah thought that he had everything figured out. He really had a huge ego; a storm comes and he automatically concludes it is about him. Jonah believes that he knows better than God, so he tries to control the situation based on his "wise judgment." He sabotages his own success by thinking that he has "all the cards" and trying to control the game.

Sometimes it is important to remember that it is NOT all about you. You don't have all the answers.  You will never have all the answers and YOU DON'T NEED TO! It is often the uncertainty that opens you up and creates the space for life to express through you. It is at those moments that you really find out who you really are.

Success or sabotage?  Don't wait to get swallowed by a whale of a problem to listen to your inner voice.

Is this going to be an incredible day? Are you going to listen to your intuition or are you going to analyze it until the day has already passed?
